Jimmy Butler was everything and more for the Miami Heat in Game 1 against the Boston Celtics.

Butler was such a dominant force in the opening game of the series that he locked in a stat line that's never been seen in the recorded history of the NBA. The Heat star poured in 41 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four steals, and three blocks – a box score breakout that's now uniquely done by Jimmy Butler.

Butler had the sterling efficiency to go along with the historic numbers. The Heat frontman shot 12-for-19 from the field and also went 17-for-18 from the free throw line.

After Jayson Tatum went off for 21 points in the first half, it was Jimmy Butler who responded in the second half, scoring 27 of his 41 points in the final two quarters.

With such high-end talent starring opposite the Heat in the NBA conference, they need Jimmy Butler to play like a true super star in these playoffs. Aside from Tatum, MVP-caliber opponents in Stephen Curry and Luka Doncic lurk in the West bracket.

So far, he's answered the call in these playoffs. Jimmy Butler has a legitimate case as the best player in the postseason thus far and he showed it on Tuesday night.
