What is the Armed Forces Torchlight Parade?

The Armed Forces Torchlight Parade is an 84 year old Spokane tradition, which has been on hiatus during the pandemic, so get ready to clap and cheer with an enthusiastic crowd.

The mission of the Spokane Lilac Festival Association, who organize the parade, is to “Honor Our Military, Empower Our Youth and Showcase Our Region.” All are well-represented in the Armed Forces Torchlight Parade. You'll see expert equestrians and their amazing horses trot alongside high-school marching bands, beautiful floats and Lilac Princesses.

You can see the parade right in downtown Spokane, on all the main streets, as it travels from Washington to Spokane Falls Blvd, winding through Stevens, Howard, Wall and Post. It's hard to miss.
