The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
UPDATE, MAY 17, 9:03 PM:
Firefighters remain at the scene of a fuel fire involving multiple vehicles and threatening a structure in the Manton area.
The fire was reported at a home on the 5700 block of Wilson Hill Road just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The fire was confirmed to be burning a 1,500-gallon diesel fuel storage tank, which was filled with roughly 800 gallons of fuel at the time the fire began.
CAL FIRE Shasta-Trinity Unit officials said the fire extended to three commercial vehicles and is threatening a nearby barn. Additionally, they said fuel began to leak from the tank towards a nearby water source. However, through fast actions, CAL FIRE was able to keep the fuel contained to the property.
Due to safety reasons, CAL FIRE is letting the remainder of the fuel burn away. They said their crews have a good knockdown on the fire and will remain committed to it for at least another four to five hours.
