The community will once again have the opportunity to tour the B Reactor National Historic Landmark at the Hanford site.
This comes after a two-year closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Visitors will get the opportunity to see the world's first full-scale nuclear production reactor. The B Reactor was built in just under a year and began operating in September of 1944, according to officials.
The tour lasts around four hours and will include transportation to and from the facility. Once at the site, visitors will get a walking tour.
Tours start back up on May 26th and will run through November.
Their planned tour dates include:
- May 26-31
- June 1-4, 6-11, 13-18, 20-25, and 27-30
- July 1-9, 11-16, 18-23, 25-30
- August 1-6, 8-13, 15-20, 22-27, and 29-31
- September 1-10, 12-17, 19-24, and 26-30
- October 1, 5-8, 12-15, 19-22, and 26-29
