Peoria Public Works employees rescue ducklings from storm sewer

PEORIA (25 News) - Members of Peoria Public Works were heroes to some ducklings that found their way to the bottom of a storm sewer near the Peoria Riverfront.

After receiving notice of the trapped ducklings, Public Works acted quickly. One of the workers dropped down into the sewer, and began carefully scooping the ducklings into a bucket.

As the mother duck stuck close by, the worker emerged with the ducklings and reunited the family.

The ducks were given a safe escort back home, as the family waddled over some train tracks, and returned to the Peoria Riverfront.
