Bowling Green church gives free covid vaccines… raises grocery grant in process

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One Bowling Green church offered free Covid vaccinations to their community Monday afternoon.

First Christian Church on State Street welcomed anyone and everyone to their free vaccination clinic Monday.

The church started the morning off working toward a goal. They applied for a $15,000 grant from the Kentucky Association of Health Plans.

They would win the grant only if they gave out over 101 vaccines.

Already three hours before their deadline, the church had surpassed their goal. The  grant money will go towards First Christian Church’s Community Grocery Store.

Reverend Kyle McDougall said, “Extra funding is always great. Getting some people boosted and vaccinated at the same time is just a bonus.”

The clinic was especially timely where Governor Beshear says that the commonwealth is seeing an uptick in Covid cases.
