Teacher dies before the end of the school year at Morgan County R-II School District

VERSAILLES, Mo. (KMIZ)

A teacher died suddenly Monday according to a Morgan County R-II School District release.

Morgan County R-II School District Superintendent Dr. Steven Barnes wrote in a release that Kim Winter died on Monday.

Winter taught throughout the district but was listed on the district's website as a middle school German teacher.

Grief counselors were on hand to help with students and staff Tuesday and will remain at the school to help those that need it.

Winter worked at the district for over 29 years.

She was set to retire on Friday.
