18-Year-Old Arrested for Assaulting Her 56-Year-Old Fiancé
This is a press release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On 05-06-2022 at approximately 7:23 AM Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to investigate a domestic violence dispute in the 1400 block of South State Street in Ukiah, California.
Deputies contacted a 56 year-old male and his fiance, Chandra Silva [age 18], upon arrival.
Deputies learned that on 05-06-2022 at approximately 7:23 AM the adult male was physically assaulted by Silva during an argument.
During the altercation Silva ripped the adult male’s shirt off of him and hit him several times, causing injuries. The adult male had visible injuries on his face, neck and chest which were consistent with the assault.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Deputies placed Silva under arrest for 273.5 (Felony Domestic Violence Battery).
Silva was subsequently booked into the Mendocino County Jail where she was to be held in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.
The alleged actions described in this press release describe domestic abuse. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men experience sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetimes.

An 18 year old person engaged to a 56 year old gets violent and they arrest the 18 year old (LOL). I hope the police dig a little deeper and the 18 year old gets the physiologist they deserve.

11 days after the incident it’s necessary to post this in the news. The backstory could pretty dismal. An 18-year-old with a 56-year-old in the first place huge power dynamics. Sure he may have gotten the short end of the stick this time likely there’s been a lot of emotional abuse before this. Hope she can get on track and put this behind her. Him…he knows better keep yer d in your pants…hes most likely has grandkids her age. CRIPE.

Kym Kemp, please explain why you posted this “press release” with only a little blob about preventing domestic violence and absolutely nothing about how the 18 year old “engaged” to an almost 60 year old man may be the victim of Human trafficking or may be in some sort of abusive relationship against her will. Although you are right she may be (is) a victim, Kym is simply reporting the arrest. You are speculating as to Kym’s motive where I do not see this as anything more than unbiased reporting. Adding the domestic violence information applies to both male and female victims and entirely appropriate.
