Crews suspend search for 40-year-old woman who fell off Celebrity cruise ship in Alaska

JUNEAU, Alaska — A search for a woman who fell off a cruise ship has been suspended.

The Celebrity Solstice captain reported to the Coast Guard Sector Juneau at 3 a.m. saying the 40-year-old woman fell overboard.
The ship crew used search boats until 5 a.m. when the Coast Guard crews showed up to help.
However, after hours of searching, the Coast Guard says it has suspended efforts.

Ship security footage showed her going overboard. It’s unclear if the ship is staying in the area or not.
