“There were 200 probably golf ball sized dents in both vehicles:” Family gets hit hard by Monday evening storm

LINKWOOD, Md.- Robin and Danny Bell family were getting ready to leave their home in Linkwood Monday evening, until unexpected noises came from outside. They even felt the house shaking.

“I was inside the house and next thing you know it sounded like a bunch of gunshots going off,” Danny Bell said

“It was very scary it was very loud, I thought we were even having a tornado it was so loud,” Robin Bell said.

The Bells said when they peeked out their window it was a bizarre sight and caused emotions to run high.

“I was like in panic, I really didn’t know what to do,” Robin said.

“Some water started leaking in the house in areas that never ever remotely done that before,” Danny said. “So, we looked outside and we started seeing white plastic pieces just flying away from the house and white balls flying at the house.”

And, it wasn’t long before they figured out what exactly was catching their eye.

“It was hail, almost straight below my knees that’s how high it was,” Danny said.

While the storm only lasted 15-20 minutes, when the Bells came out of their house they saw holes all around the house.

“I saw the house, I just wanted to cry,” Robin said.

While their home did get pelted with hail, their cars weren’t safe from the hail either.

“Just something you put your life into, just see it just kinda ripped to shreds,” Danny said. “Then you know both of our vehicles both mine and my wife’s vehicles were destroyed. There were 200 probably golf ball sized dents in both vehicles.”

Now that the storm has passed, the family said while they’re left picking up the pieces of their home they don’t ever want to weather this kind of storm again.

“I don’t think you can be prepared for something like this and there’s nothing you can really do,” Robin said.

The family said they’ve lived 18 years in that location and have never experienced hail like that. They also told us while they did see damage, they’re just happy their family was safe.
