It’s going to be a hulk girl summer on Disney+.
Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, starring Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) in the title role, will premiere Wednesday, Aug. 17, TVLine has confirmed.
The announcement was made official during Disney’s Upfront presentation in New York, where the streamer also unveiled the first official trailer.
In addition to Maslany as Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk, the show’s cast also includes Mark Ruffalo (I Know This Much Is True) as Bruce Banner aka The Hulk, Tim Roth (Twin Peaks) as Emil Blonsky aka Abomination, Ginger Gonzaga (Kidding) as Jennifer’s BFF, Renée Elise Goldsberry (Girls5Eva) as Amelia, Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) as Titania.
She-Hulk is the latest in a long line of Marvel series produced for Disney+. Previous releases included WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If…?, Hawkeye and Moon Knight. Still to come are Ms. Marvel, Secret Invasion and Ironheart, among numerous other series and holiday specials.

I’m so excited for this. Tatiana Maslany is absurdly amazing and I think this will be a fun series
I really want this to be good.. but the vfx look pretty bad in this trailer.
It does. It literally looks like Shrek 2
It’s 3 months out, probably still working on final touches.
Yes…thank you! As I didn’t know why this looked familiar but yes…very “Shreky” indeed!
I feel like it may be the kind of thing that our brains just learn to accept once we stare at her long enough – like Hulk or Thanos.
The fact that her design is much closer to a normal human than either of them is probably what is leading to that Uncanny Valley effect.
Case in point: Battle Angel Alita. Good God was her face unsettling at first. and yet, by the end of the movie, you’ve adjusted.
+100 TVLine Power User points (no cash value)
Agreed on both counts.
Looks like fun and that’s key to the spirit of She-Hulk. I’m a little iffy on her CG but hopefully that will come together in the end.
Pass.
Mean to say pass unless the second trailer is more impressive. This was kind of meh. But Veeps trailer kind of sucked and the show was hilarious.
Geez whoever did the CG of this series needs to get fired. How Disney green lighted this? The series and Tatiana looks nice but the effects is totally horrible
I’m looking forward to this. I loved Tatiana since Orphan Black.
.
Everyone is right about the CGI. This is just a first trailer and we are still 3-months out from the show, so they have time to fix the issues with that.
Looks really stupid.
The whole trailer was pretty cringy. Abs I don’t mind a comedy take at all, but it wasn’t funny. But there’s some great talent involved so I hope they just need more time to show the good stuff. Because if this is the good stuff, yikes.
I was pretty excited for this, but this trailer was a lot of jokes that just didn’t land for me. It’s clearly supposed to be a comedy, but there’s a problem when you don’t laugh once at what are supposed to be the best scenes to draw the audience in.
Wow! Orphan Green!
I will give it a shot, but it’s going to come down to story and VFX for me. It has promise and seems to have good actors.
Big mistake to make it a comedic drama, way too cheesey, just terrible. it should have been written as a serious drama.
Oh please no. The premise is just way too ridiculous for it to be a serious drama.
.
Besides whenever they go the serious route with the character in the comics it’s ALWAYS terrible. She-Hulk just works better as a comedic character.
I don’t think it should be a serious drama but I’d definitely have preferred something more like The Good Fight/The Good Wife … moments of ridiculousness and humour now and again but with a dramatic premise and a focus on law cases
I was underwhelmed by Moon Knight and Eternals/Shang Chi.
.
Tatiana deserves a good series, so I’m hoping this is Loki/Wandavision quality rather than Moon Knight.
LOL They added the credits that each actor is probably LEAST famous for. Tim Roth (Twin Peaks)? Maybe credit him for The Incredible Hulk…? And wouldn’t it be more relevant to credit Mark Ruffalo for AVENGERS?!
Traditionally TVline credit actors with their most relevant TV credits, not film, as this is a TV website.
Ruffalo won big awards for I Know This Much is True. Also, if you’re reading this article and don’t know that Ruffalo was in Avengers, then what rock have you been living under?
.
Similarly, Roth was in The Incredible Hulk 14 years ago now. Why pull that out as his credit? If you follow the MCU, you probably already know that. If you don’t, do you need or want to go back and watch Incredible Hulk? Probably not. Blonsky’s in prison after going nuts and getting murderous following enhancing experiments. Jenn’s clearly going to be sent in as counsel for an appeal or something. I’m sure she’ll explain that as she sits down with him and save the uninitiated a couple hours with a mediocre movie.
I mean, technically he was last seen in Shang Chi…
This looks like fun! About time the MCU gets a little “flirty”!
I think so too. The effects aren’t that bad and the tone feels really smart and fun. The humour is probably more subtle than slapstick, so it’s hard to capture in a trailer. And I love Tatiana!
Wow Fiona has her own show.
I wonder how many takes it required for Tatiana Maslany to say “adult orphan” without breaking out into a fit of laughter.
The good news is, TM has plenty of experience sitting in makeup chairs and preparing to play multiple different personalities.
I know nothing about she-Hulk, except what’s inherent in the name. But I was in based on Tatiana Maslany. Never expected this to be a comedy, though, which I don’t usually watch, but I’ll still check it out because of Tatiana.
I think it looks fun – which is probably how they intended it. Not every Marvel series has to be deep with underlying currents. I’m excited for this – chuckled quite a few times during the trailer.
Also for those talking about vfx – please tell me how they are supposed to make a person transforming into a green She/He hulk look…”realistic”? LOL Also, please keep in mind they probably have a nice budget but not like Avengers movie budgets…
You got to be kidding!!
Tatiana Maslany is one of the finest actresses around. I hope this new venture will be successful.
