Whether you like it or not, Addison Rae is bringing back the pouf. Yes, you read that correctly — the bump hairstyle that thrived in the early- and mid-2000s is seeing a mini resurgence on social media.

On May 11, Rae posted a TikTok of the voluminous style in the works with the caption, "Bring back poofs. Btw where's my bump it," referring to the beauty tool that helped create the mini bouffants back in the day. The video was dubbed with a sped-up version of "Sway" by Michael Bublé, and Rae's hairstylist Kiley Fitzgerald can be seen in the background styling her hair. Unlike the early aughts, Fitzgerald skipped the Bumpit tool and instead opted for a round brush to bring height to Rae's long, brunette bangs.

With the Y2K aesthetic trending all over TikTok and Instagram, it's no surprise the pouf is finding its way back, especially because rumors of the hairstyle resurfacing have been bubbling up since the beginning of 2022. Butterfly clips, baby braids, space buns, and claw clips are also trending hairstyles from the era.
