Cody Blevins (pictured above with Citizens Bank’s Ashley Engles), part of environmental services for Batesville School District, was named Monday to receive the May “Citizens Bank Above & Beyond Award.”

Always proactively looking for ways he can help, no task is too big or too small for Blevins to tackle, the bank said in a release. His peers said of his efforts:

  • “Cody is the star for going ‘above and beyond.’ He is not afraid to do anything we need. The kids love seeing Mr. Cody! One kid told me, ‘Mr. Cody keeps us safe!’ We appreciate all he does for our kids and our campus.”
  • “Mr. Cody is so much more than a custodian. He is a mentor to the students, a smiling face to greet parents, and a helping hand to all staff at Batesville Preschool. If a dollhouse needs to be put together or tables need to be moved for a meeting, he is your man. When there is a need, he sees it before it is mentioned. If it benefits the campus, he is up for the task. Thank you, Mr. Cody, for making Batesville Preschool SHINE!”
  • “Not a day goes by that he doesn’t ask, ‘Ya’ll need anything?’ Cody is always willing to help in any way that he can. He steps up and takes care of anything he sees that needs to be addressed without being asked.”

Since 2012, Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District have recognized staff members who go “above and beyond” to realize the district’s mission to empower today’s students for tomorrow’s challenges. Staff in all schools and departments throughout the district nominate award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 20-ounce insulated tumbler from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Batesville School Board meeting each month.
