He was a member of Pine Tree Hunting Club, the Sons of the American Legion, and former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, all of Hughesville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved taking fishing trips to Canada with his family and friends. He was an avid Penn State football fan and enjoyed watching car races. He loved the company of his pet dogs over the years, but most important to him were the times he spent with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving besides his wife, Sharon Remsnyder at home, are his sons: Shawn Remsnyder and his wife Dawn of Cogan Station; Kevin Remsnyder and his wife Tina of Hughesville; and Duane Cotner and his wife Jen of Onsted, MI; a daughter, Nicole Pauling and her husband Tim of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren: Cole, Olivia, and Bella Remsnyder, Nathan and Spencer Cotner, and Garyn Pauling; five sisters: Sandra Barto of Hughesville, Christine Haag of Williamsport, Karen Phillips and Cindy Whitford, both of Hughesville, and Fonda Remsnyder of Montgomery; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and an “adopted” son, Gary Phillips of Muncy.

Preceding him in death besides his Uncle and Aunt, Butch and Rose Krause, and his first wife, Nancy Remsnyder, was a sister, Vickie Remsnyder and a special brother-in-law, Gary Barto.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hughesville Funeral Home and Cremation Svc, Inc., 5069 Route 220 Highway, Hughesville, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00PM with Pastor Larry Leland of Faith United Methodist Church, Montoursville officiating.
