Well I had to see it for myself to believe it but the Carolina Hurricanes have banned ticket sales to NYR fans. I’m pretty sure that will only embolden the Rangers Faithful even more for this series.

The story was first picked up by SNY, noting that fans outside of the Carolina area were not permitted to purchase tickets directly from their website run by Ticketmaster. This was done due to the fact that New York Rangers fans usually show up in droves every time they visit PNC Arena.

Here’s Ticketmaster’s disclaimer:

To better serve Carolina Hurricanes fans, a restricted sales area has been implemented for this Hurricanes game. PNC Arena is located in Raleigh, NC. Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of North Carolina, South Carolina and Southern Virginia. Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside of the geo-limited area will be canceled without notice and refunds given. Please adhere to the published ticket limits. If you exceed the ticket limit, you may have any or all of your orders and tickets canceled without notice.

To be honest, I’m more stunned that they have so many ticket available.

Knowing New York Rangers fans, they will be there in force despite this stunt by the Hurricanes. They really are a Bunch Of Jerks.

New York Rangers practice notes

The Rangers conducted practice today with no notable changes.

Ryan Lindgren was given a maintenance day as he’s undoubtedly playing hurt but inspiring hockey. Gerard Gallant expects him in the lineup for Game 1 on Wednesday.

Rangers sign Gustav Rydahl

The Rangers have signed undrafted free agent center Gustav Rydahl from the SHL’s Färjestad BK.
