NBA analysts and fans all over the world are still shocked about the loss of the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.
The Suns were obliterated on Sunday night by the Dallas Mavericks in a complete drubbing for the ages.
It ended Phoenix’s season and it also tarnished the entire season.
Seeing any team lose like that is surprising but seeing the best team in the league be taken down in such an embarrassing fashion is confounding.
Also confounding was the performance of Devin Booker, one of the team’s star guards.
Booker put up only 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
It was a horrible showing from the young superstar and people weren’t having it.
Stephen A. Smith of ESPN was all fired up about Booker’s playing on Sunday night and took to Twitter to rip into him.
Smith said he couldn’t believe how great the Mavs looked and how “pathetically awful” the Suns were.
He also directly called out Chris Paul and Booker.
The only problem is that he tagged the wrong Devin Booker on Twitter.
The Booker he linked to is actually a Euroleague basketball player who was thousands of miles away during Phoenix’s huge loss.
His response was classic: “I didn’t know I was supposed to show up. I had a game in Istanbul the same day. I’ll be ready next time.”
That’s a pretty hilarious response to Smith’s mix-up.
The Wrong Booker
The Booker getting all the online furor from Smith is an American basketball player who has never played a game of professional ball in the states.
After being undrafted in 2013, he went overseas to start his career and has since played in France, Germany, and Russia, and currently resides in Turkey.
He’s won quite a few awards for his hard work and is currently in the midst of a two-year deal with the Turkish Basketball Super League.
However, he has literally nothing to do with Booker of the Suns – although he’s getting a lot of flack because of him right now.
