Here are the final Fort Smith area Oklahoma slow pitch softball rankings for 2022

The Oklahoma slow pitch softball high school season was completed last week.

Here are my final rankings for Fort Smith area teams. Previously, only a top-five were released.

1. Pocola (28-5): The Class 3A champions won its first title since 2007 and third overall. Allyssa Parker was dominant state tournament performance, going 6-for-6, with nine runs scored and two home runs. In the 9-3 finals win over Morrison, the freshman went 3-for-3 with a double and a triple. Previous ranking: No. 1

2. Red Oak (28-9): Bested Pocola two-out-of-three times, but two one-run losses kept the Lady Eagles from getting past regionals. Previous ranking: No. 3

3. Stilwell (24-8): Taya Ross closed out the season batting .645 with 11 home runs and 57 RBIs. Stilwell lost to Tecumseh 14-8 in the first round of the 5A state tournament. Previous ranking: No. 2

4. Whitesboro (29-9): The Lady Bulldogs had 25 hits in five innings to defeat Kiowa 21-3 in the Class A state tournament first round, before losing to Turner 21-16 in the second round. Previous ranking: No. 4

LeFlore County Trifecta:Allyssa Parker and Pocola complete trifecta in 2022 LeFlore County Slow Pitch Tournament

5. Wister (25-13): After dominating Talihina in districts, the Lady Wildcats lost home regional games to Stroud and Vanoss. Vanoss went on to defeat Stroud for the regional title. Previous ranking: No. 5

6. Howe (13-18): The Lady Lions reached the Class 4A state tournament, losing to state champion Washington 13-0 in the first round. Big bat Kaelbi Duvall led Howe with a .593 batting average with 17 home runs and 52 RBIs. Previous ranking: No ranked

7. Heavener (19-15): The Lady Wolves defeated Warner a combined 28-4 in districts. Class 4A No.7 Oktaha defeated them twice in regionals to end Heavener’s season. Previous ranking: Not ranked

8. McCurtain (18-7): Defeated Cameron in a three-game series to win the district tournament, before a 3-2 loss to Turner and a 3-0 loss to Caney in regionals to end its season. Previous ranking: Not ranked

9. LeFlore (21-19): The Lady Savages lost 12-7 to Lookeba-Sickles in the Class A state tournament first round. Three batters hit over .500 this season, led by Alyssa Waits at .583. Previous ranking: Not ranked

10. Cameron (25-13): Lost 5-4 in the deciding third game of the district series with McCurtain. That close to making the regional. Previous ranking: Not ranked
