Today the Biden Administration announced that additional free COVID-19 tests are available to order.

U.S households can now order eight free rapid antigen tests through COVIDTests.gov. This marks the third round of free test kits made available by the federal government, bringing the total to sixteen tests per household so far. The White House says 350 million tests have been given away to 70 million households, more than half of the households in the U.S.

Nationally, COVID cases have risen 60 percent in the past two weeks according to Johns Hopkins University, and an average of 14 cases per day were reported in Clarke County, a 142 percent increase from the average two weeks ago. In the fact sheet released earlier today, the Biden administration expressed disappointment with Congress’s failure to provide additional funding for the nation’s COVID-19 response and called upon them to help sustain the availability of free-tests going forward.
