What if Davis Mills performs at Pro Bowl level, but Texans still stink? Draft QB with top pick?

(SportsRadio 610) - Davis Mills is the Texans' starting quarterback going into the 2022 season.

The second-year, third-round draft pick earned the job after outperforming veteran Tyrod Taylor last season. Since there was no elite quarterback prospect in this year's draft, it made sense to give Mills an extended audition to play the leading role in Houston.

But next year's quarterback prospects are expected to be much better, with Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young of Alabama, and Ohio State's C.J. Stroud at the top of the list.

What if Mills plays at Pro Bowl level in Year 2? Not necessarily making the Pro Bowl - which would be difficult in a conference with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson, Justin Herbert and Derek Carr - but simply playing at that kind of level.

That's the debate here on Clint Stoerner & "The Show."
