The Jets now have two of their three first-rounders officially in the fold.
The team announced Monday that they have signed edge rusher Jermaine Johnson, the No. 26 overall pick, to his rookie deal, which SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano reports is a four-year, $13.1 million deal with a $6.7 million signing bonus.
The Jets traded back into the first round to select Johnson at 26, giving up a second, third, and fifth round pick to acquire that selection and a third-rounder from Tennessee. The pick gave the Jets three players they had on the Top 8 of their big board, all at premium positions.
Their top pick, CB Sauce Gardner, signed back on May 7, the No. 4 overall selection’s deal reportedly worth $33.4 million with a $21.5 million signing bonus. That leaves WR Garrett Wilson, who was selected No. 10 overall, as the long Gang Green first-rounder still unsigned.
