POLICE ARRESTED JOLLEY AFTER WITNESSES CALLED 9 11 TO REPORT THEY SAW HER REPEATEDLY AND FORCIBLY THROWING NINE WEEK OLD KHALYS LIEASHAY JOLLEY ON BIEDERMAN ROAD LAST THURSDAY AFTERNOON. A Pearl woman charged in the death of her 2-month-old daughter is on suicide watch and is being held in isolation at the Rankin County Jail, county officials said.Makaylia Jolley, 20, was wearing shackles and body armor when she arrived Tuesday at the Pearl Police Department for an initial court appearance. Jolley is charged with capital murder with underlying felony child abuse charges after her daughter, Khalysie Lashay Jolley, died Saturday at Children's Hospital. Pearl police said Jolley is accused of repeatedly and "forcibly" throwing her daughter onto Bierdeman Road last Thursday. Jolley ran into the woods after the incident, where she was arrested by police.Jolley said nothing during Tuesday's short initial hearing where the judge told her she was being held without bond. Jolley tried to make eye contact with family members in the courtroom. Rankin County District Attorney Bubba Bramlett said Jolley could face life in prison as well as the possibility of the death penalty if she's convicted. Friends, family members and neighbors held a vigil and balloon release Monday on Bierdeman Road.
