Lincoln police arrest four people who were allegedly stealing catalytic converters on drug, gun charges
Authorities have arrested four people who were allegedly stealing catalytic converters on drug and gun charges, according to the Lincoln Police Department.
Around 2:10 p.m. Monday, officers investigated reports of catalytic converter thefts at a Super 8 Motel near Southwest 27th and West O streets, according to law enforcement. Officers found a Jeep Cherokee suspected to be involved in a recent theft attempt at a different location.
According to Lincoln police, officers made contact with 29-year-old Samantha Fischer, of Blue Springs, Missouri, and 40-year-old Craig Haynes, of Blue Springs, Missouri, while approaching the Jeep. Law enforcement found 4.5 grams of suspected Methamphetamine in a bag belonging to Fischer, as well as $1,203 on Haynes.
Officers discovered the Jeep was reported as stolen from Lee Summit, Missouri, according to Lincoln police. The room rented by Haynes and Fischer was also investigated where officers found 44-year-old Rachel Lawler, of Kansas City, Missouri, and 46-year-old Gene Madden, of Kansas City, Missouri.
Police also found 31.3 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, $4,351 in cash and a .25-caliber handgun in the motel room, according to authorities.
The four suspects were taken into custody.

- Madden: Possession of controlled substance with the intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm during a felony drug violation, Possession of money while violating 28-416, and possession of firearm by prohibited person.
- Haynes: Theft by receiving stolen property, possession of controlled substance, possession of money while violating 28-416, and possession of burglar tools.
- Lawler: Possession of controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of firearm during a felony drug violation, possession of money while violating 28-416, possession of firearm by prohibited person, and possession of burglar tools.
