NOTTOWAY COUNTY, Va. -- A 21-year-old Amelia County man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after a search that spanned several Virginia counties.
The search for Noah Price started Monday when the Lunenburg Sheriff’s Office contacted the Nottoway Sheriff’s Office for help finding a 1978 blue Ford truck that was reported stolen. The vehicle, according to the Nottoway Sheriff’s Office was seen in Crewe at about 7:06 p.m. Monday.
"A pursuit began, with speeds of approximately 80 mph," a statement from the Nottoway Sheriff’s Office read. "At approximately 7:14 p.m. [the] vehicle was in the area of 460 and 606 where the suspect shot out of the window multiple times at Nottoway Sheriff Deputies."
Price, according to the sheriff's office, jumped out of the truck and ran.
The sheriff's office used a Code Red alert to warn neighbors about Price.

Just after 9 p.m. Monday, the sheriff's office investigated the attempted breaking and entering of a truck along the 3000 block of Cottage Road. A few hours later, a neighbor reported hearing a gunshot.
The area this happened was less than two miles north of where police said the shots were fired.
Then, early Tuesday morning, at about 6:13 a.m., deputies said they received a call from the 2000 block of Cottage Road that Price was stealing an ATV.
That ATV belonged to the Norfleets and Daphne Norfleet told CBS 6 she was sitting in her sun room when noticed something amiss.
"I was looking out the back and I saw the barn door was open and I heard the four-wheeler running and I thought, well, my husband wasn't down there — he was on the sofa," said Daphne. "I hollered at him and I said, 'Billy, somebody's on your four-wheeler.' Well, I thought right away who it was."
Norfleet said the suspect was reversing the ATV towards there neighbor's house. Her husband, Billy, said he heard glass shatter on their property and an alarm go off.
Billy said law enforcement pursued the suspect into the wooded area behind the homes, but were not able to apprehend him.
Billy Norfleet said he believed the suspect had broken into their barn and had spent the night in there.
The rock he said was used to shatter the glass on the back door was still on the ground.
"Ransacked the barn, went through everything. Sat in my chair, drank my coca-colas out of my refrigerator, smoked pot, made a pipe," said Norfleet, who showed what appeared to be a makeshift bong made from a plastic bottle and one of his sockets.
Norfleet said the suspect had also taken, and broken, his motorcycle and had left it in the woods behind his neighbors. He said he suspected he was unable to get it started, so came back to get the ATV — which is when his wife spotted him.
After the failed attempt to catch the suspect around the Norfleets, law enforcement received another called about ninety minutes later that Price was knocking on the door of a home less than three miles away on Riddle Road.
Deputies responded and arrested Price at about 7:52 a.m. after a brief foot chase.
Price faces charges in numerous jurisdictions including felony theft and firearm charges in Nottoway, breaking and entering in Prince Edward, and grand theft auto in Cumberland.
Officials said more charges are pending.
Price is being held without bond and has several court hearings in the coming days.
