Actor & best-selling author Danny Trejo booked as library’s fall foundation speaker

From WOOD COUNTY DISTRICT PUBLIC LIBRARY

Readers and film buffs alike are invited to join the Wood County District Public Library in seeing Hollywood actor and bestselling author Danny Trejo on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Center for Performing Arts, 540 West Poe Road, as a WCDPL Foundation Series event.

Author of Trejo’s Tacos and Trejo: My Life of Crime, Redemption, and Hollywood, Trejo is one of Hollywood’s most recognizable, prolific, and beloved character actors. Famed for his ultra-baddie roles in series like AMC’s Breaking Bad, FX’s Sons of Anarchy, and director Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids and Machete film franchises, Trejo is also a successful restauranteur. He owns seven locations of Trejo’s Tacos, Trejo’s Cantina, and Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts in the Los Angeles area, and is expanding his Trejo’s Tacos franchise nationwide. His books have become instant New York Times Bestsellers, and are heralded for telling the inspirational story of his unexpected journey from ex-con to actor to Narcotics Anonymous/Alcoholics Anonymous counselor to successful restaurateur.

Both inspiring and engrossing, Trejo’s stories are ones of compassion, salvation, resilience, and the surprising journey life takes. Everyone will be inspired by his story. Join WCDPL as he talks about his books, his career as both an actor and restaurateur, and his incredible life story.

Registration is required, and tickets for this event are free and open to the public. More registration information will be provided at a later date. Those interested can begin checking out and reading Trejo’s books now from either library location and online with WCDPL’s eMedia resources.
