Penn State tweets of the day

We start with the top-eight for a four-star receiver out of Florida.

Andy Jean, who stands 6-foot, 175 pounds, has cut his list to AlabamaFloridaGeorgiaLSUMiamiPenn StatePitt, and Texas A&M.

The Gators currently have a big lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. And, even if he doesn’t end up in Gainesville, the Class of 2023 recruit is likely to land in the SEC. That said, those two things won’t stop Penn State from pushing to earn his commitment. Running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider is leading the Lions’ charge in the Sunshine State, and he’s set up an official visit with Jean for the weekend of June 10.

In other news, former Penn State defensive tackle Cole Brevard has officially exited the transfer portal. The Indianapolis, Ind., native announced Monday that he’s transferring to Purdue. Brevard’s announcement came about a month after he entered the NCAA transfer portal. He was the only player to do so at the conclusion of spring practice.

Sticking with the roster, Penn State also shared photos of Drew Shelton, Cam Miller, Tyler Johnson, and Cristian Driver unpacking in State College as each is now on campus.

Finally, for this section, there was much to know in the updated On3 rankings for the Class of 2024. Numerous Nittany Lions targets made the cut. The only Penn State commit in that cycle, Cooper Cousins, checked in at No. 220.

Quote of the day

“I think it comes down to how I approach pass rushing. And for me, it’s always been about how I study my opponent and translate it onto the field. I think I’m agile enough, I’m versatile enough to be able to do different things. So as long as I keep that mindset and study my opponent the way I’m supposed to, I think I should be fine moving forward.”
