Lionel Messi will be entering the final year of a two-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain when next season starts. Afterward, the 34-year-old can head elsewhere, and if a particular report is accurate, the Argentine could be heading to South Florida.

According to the DirecTV channel, Messi would indeed be on the way to acquiring 35-percent of ownership rights to the MLS franchise Inter Miami. Furthermore, the Argentine would join them in the summer of 2023, at the end of his contract in PSG.

The report adds that everything is ready for the former FC Barcelona forward to head to the United States. The contract has already been drawn up but has not yet been signed, which could happen during August.

Messi’s arrival as one of the shareholders and on the pitch would boost visibility and competitiveness. The player has always confided that he would like to play in the United States if he had the opportunity, and the track leading to Inter Miami has often been mentioned in recent years.
