Community invited to provide input on Economic and Workforce Development through community engagement survey
Survey will be open from May 16 to May 29, 2022
HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu invites the community to engage with the City on how coronavirus relief funds will be invested in Oʻahu’s recovery by taking a community engagement survey at oneoahu.org/frf. This survey, focused on Economic and Workforce Development, is the second in the City’s continuing effort to gather community input on priorities for programs using State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) monies.
“The residents of Oʻahu ranked Economic and Workforce Development as their top priority in the Initial Fiscal Recovery Fund Community Engagement Survey. We know that getting our economy back on track is critical to recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Mayor Rick Blangiardi. “We take the opinions and insights of our residents as critical input in shaping our recovery and I encourage every resident on Oʻahu to take this opportunity to share their ideas through this survey.”
The input received from the public, along with policy direction from the Honolulu City Council and feedback from other community stakeholders, will help inform decision-making for federal recovery funds. The City has already received $193 million in SLFRF funds and anticipates receiving an additional $193 million this year. Nearly 1,200 Oʻahu residents completed the Initial Fiscal Recovery Fund survey when it was distributed between January and February of 2022. In addition to economic and workforce development, local residents identified public health and access to housing as their three highest-ranking priorities. The survey will be open to the public from May 16 to 29, 2022. While the City will share the overall results of the survey, the City values people’s privacy and all individual responses will be kept confidential.
