Police: Man identified following fatal Kellogg motorcycle accident

The Wichita Police Department (WPD) has identified Adam Higgins, 40, of Hutchinson as the victim of a fatality crash that occurred Saturday morning in the 6000 block of E. Kellogg.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m. Saturday, WPD Accident Follow Up detectives along with the Critical Accident Team were completing work on another fatal collision on Kellogg and were allowing traffic to proceed East. A man on a motorcycle, identified as

Higgins, 40, was traveling East in the lane for the off ramp to Woodlawn when Kellogg was reopened.

Higgins changed lanes into the outside lane of Eastbound Kellogg, where he collided with a black Chevy pickup truck driven by a woman, 42. He struck the passenger side front of the truck, then was ejected from the motorcycle and underneath the truck. He was then run over. Higgins was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries where he was later pronounced deceased.

The investigation is ongoing. This is the 16th fatal traffic collision and the 18th fatality this year.
