JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A Jonesboro High School teacher will get the opportunity to sit in while the U.S. Supreme Court provides its opinion on cases this summer.

Jon Newman, who teaches U.S. history and AP government and politics, will join 60 other educators from across the country at the Supreme Court Institute in Washington, D.C.

The Institute, which is open to teachers of law-related and civic education, is co-sponsored by Street Law, Inc. and the Supreme Court Historical Society.

Newman will spend five days in the nation’s capitol reviewing recent Supreme Court cases and learning teaching methods to bring back home to his students.
