Alabama is making quick progress with four-star Class of 2023 wide receiver Andy Jean. In less than a week, they’ve accomplished a lot with their new wide receiver target.

After extending an offer to Jean last Tuesday, the Crimson Tide have earned a spot in Jean’s top eight. Along with including Alabama on his top schools list on Monday, Jean put Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Penn State, Pittsburgh, and Texas A&M in this group.

Jean, a former Miami Hurricanes commit, is not sure when he’s going to make his final decision. Rather, his focus is on taking official visits, building up relationships with each staff, and finding a place that feels like a family environment.

Alabama still has some work to do considering how recent the offer is. While speaking with BamaOn3 last week, however, Jean made it clear that there’s already high interest in Alabama on his end.

“Bama is a big-time school, so they’re definitely near the top of my recruitment,” Jean previously told us. “They put out great receivers. Every receiver that goes there is guaranteed to go to the league. I think that’s a great spot. Imagine if I go there, I could be drafted. I’m a hard worker and I’m a competitive dude, so I know I can do the same things those guys did.”

Jean is eyeing an official visit to Alabama, but has not yet locked in a date for that trip. His only official visit scheduled is to Florida from June 24-26.

Speaking of the Gators, they could very well be the favorite in Jean’s recruitment at this time. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently views Florida as the leader, with the RPM giving UF a 42.6 percent chance of landing Jean.

Alabama is after several top 2023 wide receivers

The Crimson Tide do not currently have any wide receivers committed in their 2023 class. Even so, the program is of high interest for several targets on their radar, Jean included.

One of those prospects that is reciprocating interest is five-star wideout Brandon Inniss. Inniss, who recently spoke with BamaOn3 about Alabama, will officially visit the school next month.

Another top target for the Crimson Tide’s staff is junior college pass catcher Malik Benson. Benson recently included the program in his top five, and is working on setting up an official to the school.

Four-star pass catcher Cole Adams is viewed as one of the likeliest wideouts to end up in Alabama’s class. We can report that the talented receiver out of Oklahoma has scheduled his official visit with the Crimson Tide.

Alabama also resides in the top six for five-star prospect Shelton Sampson Jr. The in-state LSU Tigers seemingly have the edge for Sampson Jr., but the Crimson Tide are working on getting him on campus.

There are a few other wideout targets for the Crimson Tide, including Jalen Hale, Hykeem Williams, Tyler Williams, and others. Stay tuned to BamaOn3 for our continued coverage of not only Alabama’s pursuit of wide receivers, but their Class of 2023 recruiting efforts in general.
