Several strong thunderstorms moved through New Hampshire on Monday, triggering severe weather warnings, causing damage and even spawning a possible tornado.The possible tornado appears to have touched down in North Charlestown, but it is not yet confirmed by the National Weather Service. The service said it is sending a crew to the area Tuesday to survey the damage.The storm knocked trees and powerlines into roadways in the the area of Route 12 near Ox Brook Road, River Road and Shutters Way, officials said.One man, Jason Byrne, was driving his truck around 6 p.m. in Charlestown when strong winds hit. He said the storm blew out the windows of his jeep while he was driving on Route 12."It just blew everything right around me and it blew the windows out of my jeep," Byrne said. "And at that point the trees started falling so I just ducked down, and I slammed on the brakes and I stopped in the intersection, like the only place I could really find that there wasn't trees coming down."He said he had to slam on his brakes to avoid falling trees and powerlines. "Somebody else that I know was behind the trees that fell down and they were in a one ton truck that he said he stopped and the winds blew him all the way around sideways, so they were pretty powerful," Byrne said.>> View a video of the suspected tornado here:>> Latest power outage numbersAt the height of the storm outbreak late Monday night, there were thousands of customers without electricity, but only a few hundred outages remained Tuesday morning.

The possible tornado appears to have touched down in North Charlestown, but it is not yet confirmed by the National Weather Service. The service said it is sending a crew to the area Tuesday to survey the damage.
