We’ve seen Kyle Cooke rock a slew of different mullet wigs during his weekends in the Hamptons, but the Summer House cast member is going all in this time. At NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation on May 16, Kyle confirmed he is officially growing a mullet.

“It’s all happening,” he said about his changing hairstyle. “I am growing [a mullet]. My stylist told me this is the grow-in stage. It’s pretty awkward, but I am committed.”

Kyle’s hair is currently getting longer in the back. “It is kind of a weird phenomena,” he said. “It almost feels like I have a tag standing straight up from my shirt, because I just keep on forgetting what’s going on back there.”

As for how his wife, Amanda Batula, feels about it? “I think she might’ve thought I was joking,” Kyle mused. “It all depends on how it looks. I think so far so good. I think she was along for the ride originally because I don’t think she thought I would be able to continue on through the awkward stage. Until she makes me chop it off, we’re full steam ahead.”

Before Kyle walked onto the red carpet, he snapped a picture of his mullet, showing his hair’s progress. “One downside to growing a mullet — uncontrollable bed head,” he wrote.
