State Golf: Sands' Lakyn Sandlin third after first day of 1A tournament

Sands' Lakyn Sandlin finds herself in third place individually after the first day of the Class 1A UIL state girls golf tournament. 

Sandlin shot an 89 on Monday, good for a one-stroke lead over Happy's Aimee McCarly.

Happy's Halee Jo Johnson is alone in first place after shooting an 81 with Maris Pree Goodman in second with an 83. 

Brett Kaite Behrens of Borden County shot a 119 in the first round. 

Robert Lee leads the team standings with a score of 390. Happy is second at 408 and Garden City third at 413.

Seminole shot a 352 and sits in sixth place of the team standings in the Class 4A tournament. 

Kasey Hogue led the Maidens contingent by shooting an 82 on Monday. Gabby Alaniz shot an 86, Kilee Ivy a 90 and Bree Davison and Kendra Elias each 94s. 

In the Class 2A tournament, Olton's Kylee Noack shot a 93 and Sudan's Landree Gonzales a 105.
