In honor of National Police Week, which is May 15-21, Evans Early Childhood Center hosted “Cookies with Cops” on Friday, May 13. FMS Bank partnered with Evans to donate the cookies for the event.

Morgan County Sheriff Dave Martin read the children’s book “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” written by Laura Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia Bond, to Evans’ 100 toddlers and preschoolers outside on the lawn.

Local officers from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Morgan Police Department enjoyed cookies and conversations with the children, as well as with Fort Morgan’s Mayor Lyn Deal.
