As a strong cell of storms moved through parts of Virginia, D.C. and Maryland Monday afternoon, some residents reported seeing baseball-sized hail in the region.
According to 7News' Chief Meteorologist Bill Kelly, 3-inch hail was reported in Calvert County, Maryland to the National Weather Service.
7News viewers sent in pictures of the hail that took up their entire palms.
Marianne Poss and Karen Moreland sent in photos of the hail from Huntingtown in Calvert County, Maryland.
The storm, which brought strong winds and heavy rain to the area, also caused trees to come down on homes in parts of Virginia, including Alexandria, Manassas and Woodbridge.
A number of traffic accidents were also reported in the region, including a car that went into an embankment near GW Parkway and the Key Bridge.
