Way Too Early Predictions !!

Magic Crystal Ball - Running Press

Last year at this time I did an early roster projection. This year I wanted to change it up just a bit & focus on a few players vs doing the final 53. Now that the draft is in the books it's time to look forward to how the Vikings settle in for the 2022 season. It should be interesting to see how KO & the new coaching staff work with the 90 players on the early roster.

Super Sophomore's:

Last year KJ Osborn took the WR3 job & not only played well... he exceeded all expectations for a solid year. I see a few players with the chance to impress for the upcoming season. My choice for defensive sophomore of the year is Janarius Robinson. I think he could really shine in the Donatell system. My choice for offensive sophomore of the year is Ihmir Smith-Marsette. Hoping KO can scheme up some creative plays to get 4 WR's plenty of targets.

Mid-Round ( RD3-5 ) Rookie Surprise:

Last year Cam Bynum stepped up & played well in limited snaps. I see him challenging for the starting slot CB position. For the upcoming season... I really like the chances for Ty Chandler to get some snaps in as a versatile change of pace RB. He'll have to play well in TC but he has some potential to surprise. *Disclaimer they could have drafted Pierre Strong Jr.*

IR / Practice Squad Player Moves Up:

Last year Blake Brandel made the move up to the active roster & was featured in most of the jumbo packages the team ran. This season I'm hoping to see Jaymen Twyman shine once training camp starts. If he can show that he is healthy... he could push for a roster spot for the 2022 season. He has plenty of talent... he just needs to gain the trust of the new regime. Other candidates are Kyle Hinton & Zach Davidson.
