4 adults, 3 teens arrested on weapons charges in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) —
Springfield Police are cracking down on what they say are roving block parties involving more than 100 people.

Several proactive details were conducted throughout the city on Saturday.

Four adults and three teens were arrested as part of the operation.
A total of six firearms were also recovered with the following arrests:

- Latrell Wallace (male, 19 years old) of Decatur was located with a 17-year-old male juvenile, also from Decatur. Wallace was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. The juvenile was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and firearm ammunition, and possession of a firearm – No FOID.
- Kammond Brown (male, 21 years old) of Bloomington was arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon by convicted felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a firearm – No FOID.
- James Lawrence (male, 20 years old) of Springfield was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a firearm – No FOID.
- Naseem Cobb (male, 19 years old) of Decatur was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a firearm – No FOID.
- 2 male juveniles ages 14 and 15 years old were arrested during a traffic stop. The 14-year-old was arrested for possession of firearm ammunition under 18.
- The 15-year-old was arrested for defacing a firearm ID markings, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of firearm ammunition under 18, and possession of a firearm – No FOID.
