Don’t sleep on the Dallas Mavericks. Or did the Warriors catch a break?

While many predicted that the top-seeded and reigning Western Conference champion Phoenix Suns would top the Mavs in Sunday’s Game 7, Luka Doncic and Dallas obliterated Chris Paul, Devin Booker and Co.

95.7 The Game’s “Willard & Dibs” debated whether the Warriors are better off facing the Mavs than the Suns in the Western Conference finals. Check out the full back-and-forth above.

“If you’re just thinking, ‘Wow, the Warriors just got home court. Snap your fingers, off they go, they’ve got it, they’re the best team left,’ – be verrrry careful,” host Mark Willard said. “I’m not saying the Warriors can’t beat Dallas. I’m not saying I won’t pick (the Warriors) – I will pick them, we’ll get to that later in the week. But I don’t think yesterday was a break for the Warriors. I don’t think that at all.”

Au contraire, co-host Dan Dibley said.

“It’s not a huge break, but I think it’s a big enough break, because of the matchups,” Dibs said. “The problems that Dallas poses – or the problem (Doncic) that Dallas poses – versus the problems that Phoenix poses. I think that even though DeAndre Ayton was terrible yesterday and he can be inconsistent, we’ve seen big players give the Warriors problems. Especially in this Memphis series and a little bit of the Denver series as well. The size that Phoenix has was concerning me more than Luka.”

So, which side are you on? Did the Warriors get a favorable matchup?

Game 1 of the Warriors-Mavericks Western Conference Finals tips off at 6 p.m. PT on Wednesday and you can hear the action on 95.7 The Game.
