HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — One man died Monday afternoon in Hamilton County after police say his motorcycle collided with another vehicle.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal vehicle crash occurred around 4 p.m. near the intersection of 276th Street and Devaney Road. Police said the crash involved two vehicles, a motorcycle and a truck.

An initial investigation has revealed that a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling westbound on 276th Street and turning left onto southbound Devaney Road when the crash occurred. This maneuver, police said, put the truck into the path of a silver Suzuki motorcycle traveling eastbound on 276th Street and both vehicles collided in the intersection.

The driver of the motorcycle, later identified as 45-year-old Jeremy Chris of Atlanta, Indiana, was injured in the crash and deputies were told that CPR was performed on him. However, paramedics later pronounced Chris dead on the scene.

The sheriff’s department said the intersection was closed from 4 p.m. until 5:52 p.m. while the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department Crash Reconstruction Team responded. The investigation is now being handled by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team.
