A 25-year-old man convicted of killing an 85-year-old man during a robbery has been sentenced to life in prison. Jackson police said James Hankins was killed in his yard on Feb. 13, 2016. Police said Hankins was doing yard work at his home on McCluer Road when he was approached by Joshua Dukes, who shot and robbed him for his wallet.A Hinds County jury found Dukes guilty at the end of a weeklong trial. Dukes will spend the rest of his life in prison, without the possibility of parole, said Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens.
