University of Missouri curators to consider tuition increase Tuesday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Undergraduate students in the University of Missouri System will pay about 4.5% more for tuition next year if the board of curators approves the changes this week.

The University of Missouri Board of Curators will meet remotely at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Included on the agenda is setting tuition and fees, along with restructuring fees for the next fiscal year, which begins in 2023. The proposals include fee increases for many professional programs along with a fee decrease for out-of-state law students.

UM System staff has recommended tuition increases of 4.5% to 5% at the system's four campuses. Undergraduate in-state tuition will rise 4.5% across the system, with graduate tuition going up 5% at most campuses, according to board documents posted online.

Tuition would increase by $14.50 per credit hour for in-state undergraduates at the Columbia campus and $48.30 per credit hour for out-of-state undergraduates. In-state graduate students would pay $20.70 more per credit hour, with out-of-state graduate students paying $56.70 more per credit hour, on the Columbia campus.
