Summerville Police are investigating after money was stolen from a Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union ATM Monday afternoon.
Police said the suspects were able to gain access to the inside of the ATM and left with an undisclosed amount of money.
An incident report says the theft occurred just before 4 p.m. at 343 Brighton Park Blvd. An officer responded to the scene after getting an alarm from the ATM door.
Upon arrival, the officer observed a blue truck with a chain wrapped around the trailer hitch and still running on scene. A dark-colored sedan was also seen leaving the scene.
Police noted the truck's ignition had been tampered with and efforts were made to contact the owner, who said it had been stolen.
Video surveillance of the ATM showed two men pull up to the ATM and use a crowbar to pry open the front of the ATM. The report says they are then seen successfully using chains to gain access to the inside.
The suspects are seen grabbing the money boxes and running to the left of the business.
