Callum Highway has given Ben Mitchell a marriage ultimatum after his attack on Peter Beale was exposed in EastEnders.
Last week, Callum learned that his husband accidentally attacked Peter in case of mistaken identity when he was trying to continue his vendetta against homophobia in the Square.
Ben's best mate Jay Brown revealed the truth about Peter's attack to both Kathy Beale and Callum in shocking scenes, just after the newlyweds made plans to get their own flat. Then, Ben shared a kiss with Prince Albert bartender Lewis!
In Monday's episode (May 16), Callum was horrified over Ben's recent actions and announced that he was ending their marriage because of the kiss. This happened in spite of Ben insisting the kiss meant nothing to him.
Once Lewis found out about the marriage turmoil, he actually intervened to try to convince Callum not to throw everything away for one moment.
With this in mind, Callum arrived at the couple's new flat to promise Ben he wouldn't tell his police colleagues about the recent attacks in Walford.
Callum also wanted to make another go at working out the pair's marriage problems — but only if Ben agreed that he would never see Lewis again. Ben was warned if anything like this ever occurred again, Callum would end the marriage for good.
As for the attacks, Callum demanded: "It stops, Ben, and it stops now."
Viewers know that this troubling time for the couple will lead to a gripping, issue-based story where Ben is sexually assaulted by Lewis. Soap bosses have worked with Survivors UK, Survivors Manchester and the Male Survivors Partnership on this story.
