SALEM, IL — A Marion County jury found a 31-year-old Centralia man guilty last week of delivery of narcotics.

The jury deliberated for only 30 minutes before finding Donald Hemmings guilty of delivering less than a gram of fentanyl in July 2020. According to Centralia police, Hemmings was arrested during a traffic stop July 6, 2020 after they witnessed him conduct a drug sale in plain view. Police investigators had set up in the area after receiving complaints from residents of drug trafficking.

Hemmings was remanded to the custody of the Marion County Jail until his June 30th sentencing.
He’s also scheduled for a May 19 pre-trial hearing in multiple other criminal cases.
