1 killed, another critically injured in Sunday crash in Wilmington

One man was killed and another was critically injured after their cars collided at Front and Walnut streets in Wilmington on Sunday afternoon.

On Monday, the Wilmington Police Department said officers responded to the crash at 1:20 p.m. Sunday.

Department spokesman David Karas said first responders found one person in each car. A 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the second car, a 23-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, Karas said.

Karas did not provide any other information and would not confirm any details.

The intersection is a frequent scene of crashes, with a tunnel that carries local trains causing sight-line issues for drivers as they approach the light.
