Penn State Football: Beaver Stadium Gate C Construction Begins

It might not be the big expansions and renovations fans are waiting for but Beaver Stadium is undergoing another exterior facelift this summer with some landscaping and sidewalk changes, primarily around Gate C.

The plans, which were originally approved by the College Township Council on April 7th have slowly started to take shape around Beaver Stadium the past several days. The primary work areas are in the Gate C region in addition to some landscaping changes on Porter Road.

Last year Beaver Stadium saw changes to the Gate E portion of the outer concourse and will see somewhat similar modifications with an additional concrete walkway connecting Gate E and Gate C as well expanded gate entry area.

The current work involves an increased gate entry area with asphalt pavement at Gate C, along with an additional concrete walkway on the west side of the wall. A concrete walkway will be added between Gates C and E. The project also includes some landscaping work along Porter and Curtin roads, with the removal of an earth mound and eight trees and re-sodding of the area.

“The plan includes grading, removal of trees and expanded walkways to ensure the safety and ease of access for pedestrians,” College Township engineer Don Franson wrote in a memo to council.

Plans for the project can be seen below.
