Pittsburgh Penguins forward Brian Boyle underwent a successful surgery on his knee, the team's general manager said Monday. Ron Hextall said the procedure on Boyle’s left knee was performed at UPMC Presby. The expected recovery time is six weeks. He did not play in Sunday's Game 7 loss that knocked the Pens out of the Stanley Cup playoffs in round one.

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Brian Boyle underwent a successful surgery on his knee, the team's general manager said Monday.

Ron Hextall said the procedure on Boyle’s left knee was performed at UPMC Presby. The expected recovery time is six weeks.
