Williams was convicted on on March 10th, 2022, of (1) Count of Murder in the Second Degree, a class A-1 felony.
The indictment alleged that on January 4, 2020, in the area of 1 Lincoln Square in the City of Albany, Williams intentionally caused the death of 62-year-old Valena Shepherd by striking her repeatedly, causing severe trauma.
Judge Andra Ackerman said:
"You brutally bludgeoned to death an elderly woman, disabled, sweet, and innocent, in an attempt to get her money. You are a monster, and you should never be allowed out of a correctional facility. If I could sentence you to more time, if I could sentence you to life without the possibility of parole, I would."
