Man found injured near Pecos River Friday

A man found near Carlsbad Friday afternoon with injuries to his head and face remained in critical condition Monday morning as Eddy County Sheriff’s Detectives investigated the case, said Undersheriff Matt Hutchinson.

Sheriff’s deputies found him on Capitan Reef Road around 5:15 p.m. Friday near the Diving Rock recreation area. The name of the person was not released by the Sheriff’s Office.

CrimeStoppers of Eddy County offered a cash reward of up to $4,000 leading to an arrest, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Department.
