The popular amusement park Dollywood has earned a top honor from the National Amusement Park Historical Association (NAPHA) once again, making Dolly Parton's iconic theme park one of the association’s favorites in the country.
Dollywood finished in a three-way tie for the NAPHA Favorite Theme Park of 2021 along with co-winners Disneyland in Anaheim, California and Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. Dollywood also won the award in 2017.
Every year, members of the NAPHA vote in a survey to decide the best parks and attractions across several categories. The NAPHA members experience the rides for themselves and have visited countless amusement parks, riding a diverse assortment of roller coasters and other attractions.
The average member has been to more than one hundred different amusement parks and has ridden nearly 370 roller coasters.
The NAPHA, founded in 1978, is an international educational and enthusiast’s organization dedicated to maintaining and documenting the legacy of the amusement park industry’s past, present and future.
The award from the NAPHA comes after the most recent USA Today 10 Best voting where Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa earned the title of Best Amusement Park Hotel in the country.
Currently, park guests can enjoy the Flower & Food Festival presented by Covenant Health happening until June 5.
